IT Project Manager (Fixed-Price Programs)
About the Role
We are looking for a highly assertive and commercially strong IT Project Manager who can independently drive complex fixed-price engagements across services and product delivery. The ideal candidate is not an order taker, but a consultative leader who can challenge clients, influence stakeholders, manage governance rigorously, and protect delivery commitments while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end project delivery for fixed-price IT programs and transformation initiatives.
- Drive project planning, execution, tracking, governance, and successful delivery within agreed scope, budget, and timelines.
- Manage project schedules, RAID logs, dependencies, critical paths, milestones, and delivery governance.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, delivery bottlenecks, and scope creep.
- Lead financial management including budgeting, forecasting, margin tracking, revenue realization, invoicing coordination, and change request management.
- Prepare and present executive-level dashboards, status reports, governance packs, and delivery metrics.
- Handle customer escalations and stakeholder management with confidence and maturity.
- Challenge unrealistic client expectations, negotiate priorities, and confidently say 'No' when required to protect delivery quality and commercial interests.
- Act as a trusted consultant to customers by providing strategic recommendations rather than merely executing instructions.
- Anchor both services delivery and product/program implementation initiatives.
- Ensure strong governance across delivery, quality, compliance, resource utilization, and customer commitments.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, architecture, business, and vendor teams.
- Drive accountability, ownership, and execution discipline within delivery teams.
- Conduct steering committee meetings, governance reviews, and leadership presentations.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience
- 9-12 years of IT experience with strong hands-on project/program management background
- Proven expertise in managing fixed-price projects with commercial accountability
- Experience managing enterprise customers and senior stakeholders
- Experience managing both services engagements and product/program implementations
